BBF offers small group formats and open enrollment, as well as assessment and referrals for individuals, couples, and family counseling. Our 52-week program is certified by the Marin County Probation Department and recognized by the Probation Departments in neighboring counties such as Sonoma and San Francisco. BBF PROGRAM GOALS
1. End violent and controlling behavior ~ our own and others'.
2. Come to understand and accept responsibility for our own behavior.
3. Learn to identify feelings or events (warning signals) that precede violent or controlling behavior in ourselves or in others.
4. Learn alternative coping skills to prevent violent or controlling behavior in ourselves and others.
5. Acquire skills in conflict resolution and use them regularly in our families.
6. Develop empathy for others and their experience by seeking to understand their personality, point of view, and rights.
7. Minimize or reduce the environmental stress we are subjected to.
8. Improve our communication with family members or learn to cope when that is not possible.
9. Practice our newly learned skills and learn to appreciate our successes.
10. Recognize and reduce our isolation from others.
11. Learn to make our needs known to others respectfully and nonviolently.
12. Learn to appreciate and treat with respect others with whom you have relationships.
13. Gain appreciation for ourselves as good partners and good people.
